Welcome back to Some Decent News, where we break down the latest and greatest from all corners of the Metaverse. L2’s keep heating up as some of the biggest names in web3 infrastructure make an optimistic (🔴😉) leap to new scaling solutions in an effort to combat the mainnet volatility we’ve witnessed in months past.
If you haven’t subbed, what are you waiting for? Let’s get into it.
Zora, a platform for creators and collectors of digital art and NFTs, has launched its own Layer 2 solution: Zora Network.
Built on Optimism’s OP stack, Zora Network aims to provide a scalable solution that addresses the challenges of Ethereum’s high gas fees/slow transaction times and enables a more enjoyable experience for Zora users.
Zora Network's launch marks another step towards enabling broader adoption of NFTs through enhanced user experiences, and we’re stoked to be along for the ride.
Binance, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced its collaboration with Optimism to introduce OpBNB, a L2 solution addressing scalability issues faced by the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
The testnet will enable developers to explore and experiment with opBNB, encouraging devs and other users to participate and contribute to the ongoing development of opBNB.
Optimism announced that Retro PGF 3 will distribute 30 million OP tokens to reward contributions that have supported the development & adoption of Optimism. Celebrate the moment and collect your commemorative NFT here.
NFL Rivals, an NFT-based mobile game developed by Immutable, hit 1 million downloads this week. The game allows players to collect and trade digital player cards (Ethereum NFTs), and this milestone signifies growing support for blockchain tech in the larger gaming industry. Read more about it here.
Following the release of Polygon 2.0, Polygon Labs introduced a proposal to transition from PoS to a zkEVM validium. Read more about it here.
